Habitat at the Hall is Habitat for Humanity NYC's first local advocacy training and engagement day.
Habitat staff members, board members, homeowners, volunteers and youth from across our city will take the push for affordable housing to the offices and stairs of City Hall. We will discuss Habitat’s legislative priorities, learn how to advocate to your local elected officials, and hold face-to-face meetings with City Councilmembers and Mayor de Blasio's team.
9am-12pm, St. Paul's Chapel, 209 Broadway: Morning meeting with Special Guest and Karen Haycox, Habitat for Humanity NYC CEO, followed by Advocacy training and group workshops.
12pm-1pm: Lunch break
1pm: Rally and Press Conference on the steps of City Hall
1:30pm-4:30pm: Meeting with City Councilmembers and Mayor de Blasio’s team
5-8pm: "Habi" Hour at Manhattan Proper, 6 Murray Street. 10% of food and beverage proceeds go to Habitat NYC.
